THE GESTALT

Definition: Gestalt is an approach that focuses on present experience and self-realization, emphasizing holistic perception and interaction between the individual and his or her environment.
It takes into account the five dimensions of being: physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual.

Basic principles :

  • Here and now: The focus is on what the person is experiencing in the present moment, rather than on the past or future.
This approach, sometimes referred to as an “existential philosophy”, is based on learning to live in the “here and now”.
  • Self-realization: Encouraging the individual to become more aware of his or her sensations, emotions and behaviors in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the self.
  • Interaction with the environment: Perception and experiences are seen as a whole, taking into account the continuous interactions between the person and his or her environment.
  • Global approach: Gestalt considers the individual as a whole, taking into account the five dimensions of being: physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual.

Method :

  1. Awareness: Encourage people to become aware of their bodily sensations, emotions and thoughts in the present moment.
  2. Expression and dialogue: Encourage authentic expression of feelings and thoughts, often through open and honest dialogue.
  3. Experimentation: Use exercises and experiments to explore new ways of thinking, feeling and acting.
This can include role-playing, role-playing and other creative techniques.
  4. Integration: Helping people to integrate new awareness and experiences into their daily lives to promote change and personal growth.

These practices aim to improve well-being and personal balance by using different techniques to address body, mind and energy.
Gestalt encourages deep self-understanding and harmonious interaction with the environment.
